Nature Scavenger Hunt

One thing I was excited about when moving to Virginia was the amount of outdoor nature activities we could now do.  The weather in Oki was always too hot in the summer to do much, and the weather was always so unpredictable.  We love the amount of outdoor activities that Virginia offers us.

Today we headed out to a local hiking spot with the dog and boys.  We had no plans but to walk, enjoy the beauty, and have a little nature hunt.  I love that Z Step is old enough for these things now!  He had so much fun showing me all the things on this list!  Here are a few of our finds

A spider web

A Green leaf.  He knew exactly what color this was!
A Fern

A Rock!

A brown leaf

Water

Tree Bark
Z Step repeated everything I showed him and he pointed most of it all out after looking at the photos.  Unfortunately we could not find a butterfly or a bird (it ended up pouring the moment we left which explained that) but found everything else.  Can't wait to do this again!

A boy and his dog!

Daddy Step was very excited to sport this new backpack!

Best buds

Love that little minion!

Helping him across a log!

Shark Week Workout

In case you've been living in a cave the past month, I'm sure you've seen the famous commercials with Snuffy the seal advertising this year's "Shark Week."  Shark week is one that everyone gets psyched up for weeks in advance.  When many spend most days or nights glued to the T.V. eating junk food while watching and becoming more and more nervous about that upcoming summer trip to the beach.  After Shark Week is over, many look back at the week in regret of too much ice cream and far too little time spent workout out.  Well that stops now!  In honor of Shark Week, I am sharing my own Shark Week Workout.  So put down the popcorn and grab a bottle of water!  NOW!

Elijah 365- part 46

This week we have kept it simple around here.  Mornings have been spent at the gym and the library for story time.  E Step is keeping me busy always wanting to be held, and I'm beginning to get anxious about him walking soon.  He has been quite the piggy, and doesn't seem to stop at this point.  My grocery bills are going to skyrocket.  Boys.  In good news though- E Step has begun saying "Mama!"
Day 325- July 29.  Piggy at breakfast

Day 326- July 30.  Ready for a tubby!

Day 327- July 31.  He loves throwing his arms up while being fed.

Day 328- August 1.  My view most days.

Day 329- Aug 2.  Ready for breakfast again.  Seriously he does not stop eating.

Day 330- Aug 3.  Best part of going to Costco is the boxes.

Day 331- Aug 4.  At mini golf with the family
